RaDaK’s Sefer Mikhlol. A monkey dressed in shirt, cap and bells is seated between the gables and plays a pipe above the spandrels of gold arcades. Flanking it are stylised peacocks, each with its head turned back to look at a little bird about to land on its back. The page has gold arcades and blue framing bars. Verso, RaDaK’s Sefer Mikhlol. The dangers of an open chicken run are displayed as little chicks crowd around a hen holding a morsel of food and others peck happily for grain, oblivious of the bushy-tailed foxes, each of which has already caught a chick in its mouth.
