RaDaK’s Sefer Mikhlol. The dangers of an open chicken run are displayed as little chicks crowd around a hen holding a morsel of food and others peck happily for grain, oblivious of the bushy-tailed foxes, each of which has already caught a chick in its mouth. Verso, the last page in this section of the Sefer Mikhlol, shows two dragons their ears, wings and teeth showing and their long tails entangled in a Hercules’ knot so that they cannot be separated. A goose stands on one side and a swan on the other, flapping their wings. The arcades and framing bars are in gold.
