Folio 518a – King Solomon judges two women who claim the same child. On the left the two women are addressing the king. The one who kneels, has an expression of anxiety on her round face. Her hands suggest that she is pleading. The woman standing behind her, wearing a red dress and elegant headgear, has a little face and a wide smile. The clothes and facial expression enable us to determine who is the genuine mother. Solomon, gestures with only his forefinger. On his right a servant lifts a sword to cut the naked baby he is holding by the hand.
