Folio 147 contains “Hoshanot” poetical prayers recited during Sukkot. The leaf depicts a man bearing the Four Species which are waved during prayers in the Sukkah (Tabernacle). In the Book of Leviticus, it is written “And ye shall take you on the first day the fruit of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, boughs of thick trees and willows of the brook and ye shall rejoice before the Lord your God for seven days.”
